Providing PATHWAYS OUT OF POVERTY

Nepal is home to some of the kindest, most caring, and most resilient people around. Yet, it is also a place where unemployment is incredibly high, where opportunities are few and far between, and where thousands are still struggling from the effects of the 2015 earthquake. Portal Gives has supported projects that provide ethical and reliable jobs, create hope and new opportunities to locals, and rebuild local communities with earthquake-resitant technology. In 2020, we met the needs of our community by distributing food and supplies to survive extreme lockdowns and loss of work. We provided transitional housing after a landslide destroyed several homes and we supported 23 new entrepreneurs.
